Hello, my name is Luong Ngoc Quang. Currently, I am a 3rd year PhD student under the direction of Prof. Dr. Laurent Besacier at Joseph Fourier University and the co-direction of Asso.Prof. Dr. Benjamin Lecouteux at Pierre Mendes France University. The research is sponsored by a French Goverment Scholarship. My doctoral dissertation, which I expect to defend in October 2014, is a study of efficient metrics to estimate the confidence score of the output words generated by SMT systems (Word Confidence Estimation – WCE). In my laboratory (LIG), I am a member of the GETALP team, which conducts in-depth studies concerning Speech and Natural Language Processing.

My Master was done in Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Hanoi, VietNam from 2007 to 2009. My Master thesis is about applying Lexical Chain Method for Vietnamese Text Categorization.

My research interest lies in Machine Translation, especially Quality Estimation for both sentence and word levels. Besides, Translation Models or Decoders also inspire me. I am currently starting to learn basics about Speech Recognition as well.
