The Sesam-Vitale project was created to make savings in the
French health domain. It's in 1991 that it has begun and it's
only in 1998 that French people could use it. This project depends
on two smart cards (one for the patient and one for the health
professional). It is also made up of a health network which
interconnect French medical sector workers. This system concept
relies on electronically treatment paper (no more with white
paper) which are tele-transmitted. About the maturity, it is
always in a deployment and an enhancement stage.
